Good Luck, Bob! – CFS

230lbthrusterThe 2016 CrossFit Games kicks off tomorrow, and our very own Bob Caslin will be competing, leading the charge in the 60+ division. Last year, Bob ended up with a third-place podium finish in his rookie debut at the Games. We are so proud to have him out in Carson, CA representing CrossFit Southie again and we can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes this year.

bobsled-pull-1024x547If you’re unfamiliar with the CrossFit Games, making it to this level is no easy feat. Back in February, Bob competed in the Open, an five-week online qualifier competition. Competing against nearly 1400 other CrossFitters in the 60+ age division, Bob finished in 34th place! From there, Bob moved on to the second round of competition against the top 200 athletes in the world. From this group, only the top 20 move on to the Games. Bob finished in 11th place, sending him back to the Games for the second year in a row!

Bob has worked very hard to get back to this point. He spends hours at the gym mobilizing, working on his weaknesses, and attacking workouts with all he’s got. Some days, he comes into the gym for a few hours in the morning, heads to his full-time job for the day, and then returns after work to continue his training. His dedication is truly impressive. On top of all that, he’s one of the nicest, most generous people we’ve ever met. And have you seen his abs?!IMG_9048

Bob is an inspiration to us every day. Age is really nothing but a number, and he proves that every day. Good luck this weekend, Bob! You’ve already made us so proud. CrossFit Southie is behind you 110% and we can’t wait to watch you crush it this week on that competition floor!

Make sure to tune in to games.crossfit.com to watch Bob compete tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday. The entire master’s competition will be available to live stream. For a full schedule of events and times, click HERE.
